heres a little something i threw together with the help of somas glider tool. its like my own x-fade switcher actually, an option to the switcherpack perhaps?

the headache here was doin the maths on the nF_Note2CCv2's i had to use. but somehow i managed. :)
with the Soma_CC_Glider_beta i could make the x-fading reeeeally smooth as well, imagine the morphing u could do with it!

it would be even more usefull if i could change the notes as well, in the nF_Note2CCv2, but oh well. (developers?)

synth: Odo's Purple
efx: Kjaerhus Classic Flanger, Phaser & AutoFilter.
tools: Soma_CC_Glider_beta & nF_Note2CCv2

just press play in the midi part, and start triggering the efx with yer keyboard, from C1-D1#.

a little crappy mp3 to show it off: mp3

enjoy!

I'm still learning all the midiFX-stuff. Thanks very much, will try this immediately! Morphing-possibilities are always much appreciated here :D , many thanks! :hail: And Odo's stuff is great :D (Off to try it out now)

Post

first of all - thank you. :)

incidentally i've been playing around with ndc's midi-range filter in conjunction with nicfit's velonote2cc ... the reason for doing this, was that i have been wanting to use each individual key on my keyboard as an individual velo-cc. kind of as if each key was a fader, or a knob, just that you hit it, instead of moving or tweaking it.

it looks like it'd be a little cumbersome to do it this way, though. so if anyone's got an idea on how to go about this in a better fashion, please share your thoughts.

Just last night I played with FL again, because there I could do cc smoothing, now i can do it nicely in XT. thanks soma :)

fabi the underachiever, i see what u mean, tho this Gliderswitcher wasnt meant to act like that, its more a switcher than a "fader" or what u could call the thing u want. many of us like the switcher way of doin things, some dont. (many fancy minimonsta's key-morphing for example.) i personally like them all. :D

i can throw something together in the manner u want it to act, for you if u want?

Post

i think this might take some annoying work. so if you encounter anything that frustrates you, don't bother. but otherwise, that would be very kind. :) :hail: ;)

for some reason i've been feeling incredibly enthusiastic about eXT and my controllers the last few days. maybe cause i am kinda falling in love and she's not here right now. ;)

Post

i can get something together for you later on today, no problem. im on a eXT spree atm. :D

edit: oh.. i think i totally missunderstood you there. i thought u ment that my switcher thing was an annoying/cumbersome way to do it. sorry.

ill post yer vel2cc thingy later on today, gotta run some arrends now. :)

ps. PM me more details on what u want it to do, so we dont have to change things later on. ds.

Post

fabi,

ok, i dunno if this is what u wanted or not, but this is what i recon u ment.

Fabi,
If you want to change each note's velocity to a sperate CC value, you can just use a midi munger.
*,NoteOn,*,*,*,*,N,*,Ctrl,*,*,*,*

Post

hey soma,
midimunger looks really cool, havent had the time to get into it yet.. is there a script guide around or something?

Post

thanks for the effort that went into this, steffensen, i am checking it out right now. midimungers confuse me... but i'll try to figure it out. :) thank you very much for the suggestion, soma.

Post

Steff-
How to use a midi munger:
http://www.dehaupt.com/SynthEdit/DH_MIDIMungerHowTo.htm

NicFit ControlFront has midi munger in it. But don't forget to click the image that says "Munge Off" to toggel it to "Munge On". that took me a minute to figure out.

Post

fabi, no problem. im learning along the way, so its benefitial for both i guess. :) hope u can use it!

midimungers confuses me too tbh. but it really looks useful, so im gonna dive into that as well.

soma,
thanks for the link man, gonna look into it. also been testing the NicFit ControlFront, but as said, didnt really knew what to do with no script guide etc. hope thats gonna change now tho. :)

its pretty fun combining tools together in eXT tho, i gotta say. especially with the tools at hand today.

Post

i think i got the midimunger figured out. easy as pie, once you realize what's what. (i hope.... :hihi: ) :)

Post

hehe.. i kinda thought it would be something like that yea.. one of those tools that look more complicated that it probly is i guess. :)
