I`M A ZERO ON TECH, JUST A KEYBOARD PLAYER/VIOLINIST. I`VE GOT A KORG EXTREME 88 AND A YAMAHA MOTIF MODULE. HOW CAN I HAVE THE FINEST ORCHESTRA/ENSEMBLE STRING SOUNDS/SAMPLES FOR LIVE AND STUDIO USE (FORGET ABOUT ALL THE EXTREME SOUNDS). ARE ALL THE PURCHACEABLE SOUNDS ON CD`S? I DON`T EVEN KNOW HOW TO GET THEM FROM CD TO THE LOADABLE COMPACT FLASH FOR THE EXTREME. IF IT`S NOT POSSIBLE WITH MY KORG EXTREME OR MOTIF MODULE, BREAK IT TO ME GENTLY BUT PLEASE TELL ME. THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH IN ADVANCE, PASQUALE

The "finest strings available" won't fit on CF for your Korg or Motif - as multi-gigabyte libraries, they're just too big. This is true whether you get the VSL strings, Garritan Orchestral Strings, Kirk Hunter Emerald, or Sonic Implants Symphonic Strings, or another library.

Instead you'll need a computer with appropriate playback software (GigaStudio, Kontakt2, or Halion, for example), and a library like one of the above. Alternatively, you can get a Muse Receptor plus Kontakt2, rather than a computer.

You'd use a MIDI cable from your Motif or Triton into the computer, and connect the line output from your computer to an appropriate amplifier.

Finally, a gentle suggestion: ALL CAPS posts are considered equivalent to shouting.

First of all, you may need to try a different forum. Around here we mainly deal with computer related music issues. Harmony Central and Keyboard Mag have computer specific forums.

That said, we generally try to help no matter what... but remember, we have fun. If you do things like cap lock or ask for the finest strings in the world, people are going to have some fun with you.

Ok, now to you problem, have you looked into the extras the manufactorers offer? They all offer various plug-in boards.

Receptor was conceived for live performance, i think receptor + one of these libraries listen above would be "the finest" you can get....but expensive i'm afraid !
