Hello KVR brethen!

Here's a quick question that's probably been asked before dozens of times and if so, please forgive, but:

If you could have -any- effect as a VST, what would it be?

By this, I mean either traditional effects with serious enhancements, or perhaps something new that's never been done at all.

Just wanted to pick your collective brains tis all.

Thanks!

This sounds great! I was thinking about something like that too.. maybe 10 FX in a bucket, little pieces floating in water you cold grab and pull and just make a general mess of things.

I'm sure your version will be more logical though. :D

Did you give the Oblique Strategies VST a try that popped up the other day? It is very much like this!

A kind of Eventide Harmonizer

a 'sound extractor' that could extract a certain sound from one of your favourite records.

A beautiful, lush chorus that doesn't sound like a cheap flanger.

A chorder that morphs into different kinds of chords either at random or by program. For example a minor 7th would morph into a sus4 then an add9. It would make for a jazzier and more modal feel.

Isn't that Chordspace?

bduffy: lush chorus? you have to do the pre/post eq yourself, but i made one of those, http://xhip.cjb.net/ xhipeffects..

exactly what about a chorus makes it 'beautiful, lush' ? what problems can you identify with mine?

some people say "this is the best chorus i've ever heard" while others say "this will be useful for weird effects but it isnt a standard chorus"

yes, it isnt standard, that is why it sounds better. the controls do not operate the same as a normal chorus, but used correctly it works awesome. this sounds better than any other chorus i've used, digital or analog on everything i try it with. used on guitar it sounds absolutely awesome. you just have to know how to set it up right.

I like the idea of modular effects racks. Being able to make a heavy-duty, modular delay would be ideal for me. Delay is my favorite kind of effect.

use the asio stuff for buzztracker. it supports feedback and modular routing of signals. energyxt supports modular routing but not feedback, so complex delay patches are not possible.
