How does it qualify as a good plugin if it is nearly untweakable?. Were the presets that came with it a gift from God or did those who programmed it have an extraordinary run of good luck.

No seriously though I know what you mean Baniev. I coded this Killer synth last year (best vsti I have ever come across) however it also turned out to be untweakable. So no one will believe that I made a killer synth and the damn thing just sits in the cupboard laughing at me.... its doing it now ... can you hear it?

I thought they charge for the major full number upgrades. Didn't they charge to go from 3.xx to 4 ?

Nope, but...

You had to pay to upgrade to the Producer Edition (I think that was the name). If you owned 3.xx or earlier, you got the Fruity Edition free.

@deaneager, i have played a few presets just now and have noiced tat the synths are of poor quality,....

On some Env settings they do clicks and blibs. On their site they say that FL Studio is the most advanced homestudio and the plugins are of high quality but it isn´t so at all.

are you for real or 10? really no offense but do you have any idea what you are talking about? Cause I dont see it...if you don't like FL that's cool, but don't blame it for your ignorance okay? It's likely you need to set you pc up for beter performance...that's not FL's fault...get yourself a good soundcard, shut off useless appplications and no clicks in FL...BTW where can we hear your music? It works for thousands of other people...if you get clicks from any software then it is 99% user error or crap gear...not the program...jees

FWIW I can run Dfh superior, Vsampler3, Pristine lite (one of my sends in my template), B4 and sytrus plus countless pluggins for each channel without a problem, it out performs Sonar5 when it comes to this (Sonar gives me drop out Fl never even stumbles). I'm running a laptop with a P4, 2.2ghz and a gig of ram. Nothing all that powerful that's for sure.

My system is suitable enough to make music, i get max 30% cpu usage if i make a track, that cames from the powerful Athlon64 3500+. I alzo have 1 GB Ram so my gear is good enough for making music, i first must finished my track and them i will upload it in the musiccafe, i will write in the topic something with psychedelic, i think you will find it if i upload it.

Ah, and i like FL, it is the est sequenzer but the vst´s really suck, they sound like sounds from old games like mario etc but not like hardwaresynths.

first let me apologize for coming off like an ass...if you're getting clicks and pops it's not the pluggins, are you using xp? If so you need to Optimize XP, it works. But I am confused how you find something with as many parameters as Sytrus to be untweakable, in fact I find it overwhelming at times and revert to Wasp.

I have a rather odd workflow because I myself do not care for doing any live audio work in FL, at least not now...not sure about after 6 comes out I use Sonar and Adobe Audition for recording...as a guitarist I record a lot of audio. So FL is where I start and write drum tracks, bass parts, synth/organ parts and the export it to AA or Sonar (now Sonar more).

But I do use the FL fx and Sytrus or Wasp in the other apps quite often. As for other FL pluggins, I dont use that many. Like boobass..it's cool, but multi-velocity bass samples in Vsampler are much better. FPC is cool, but 16 pads are not enough, Dfh has enough for me though FL keys is okay, but Mr Ray (donationware) and B4 work better for me (of course the makers of Mr Ray have a donationware organ that rox). Plucked sounds nice, but not as nice as my acoustic guitar. In other words if the pluggins don't do it for you, there are plenty that will work well in FL and many free...you don't have to use the FL pluggins.

A lot is subjective anyhow, depending really on the genre. But you kinda made it sound like FL is a joke, which I hear way too often, then I hear some great stuff done with FL

Clicks and pops are coming when you opne menus and such while FL is playing, correct? The optimize does fix that, if you're still getting problems then it's your buffer length on your soundcard. If you experience too much latency get a card with direct monitor, then you can push the buffer to it's max and not worry about it. If you're still getting troubles then you have things running in the background that are eating up your cpu. I know with both Sonar and AA I need to disconnect from my modem and shut down my security software (I have to disconnect because of my protection being off) or I will get underuns or dropouts when I am running a lot of tracks.

But I assure you, professional songs can be produced in FL and it's still one of the best values in hosts (Ext is as well, that's why I say one of). But at the same time I will admit that as an only app it's tougher...but I need FL myself just because of it's easy workflow for coming up with new ideas. In Sonar to use the multi outs on Dfh I have to go through this pain in the ass work around, fl it's one click. I think you might find as you dig deeper into FL there is a lot more there then you ever realized...but it's all how you use it..
