What are my options when using a module with FL studio?

I've been using FL for a year and now want to incorporate some rack synths into my setup. I just got a Roland xv5080. What would be the most useful way to integrate? I'm not good with the midi stuff, like using a multitimbral setup. Would I link up FL tracks with different midi channels on the module, or just sequence one track at a time and record each one as I go? also what about using two racks? Please give me some suggestions so I have a decent starting point.

So are you trying to hook your midi up to the computer, the back out to the module and then record the sounds off the xv5080 back onto it or something?

use a midi out channel, set it to the same port as your midi out on your midi/soundcard...I don't remember if the 5080 has the adat digital output or a stereo digital out, if you can run the sounds back in digital it's obviously best to do so...if you want further control over the 5080 you can use the definable parameters in the FL midi out in conjunction with the midi chart, or if you want a better interface in FL you can make a dashboard...

btw for multi-timbral use mutiple midi outs set to the same port, but different channels.

thanks guys, I'll look into that dashboard thing. I ultimately want all the sounds in FL. But while I'm creating a track I'm not sure if I record each track as I go or have a setup where several tracks from the module are playing at a time then record them all later. I'll try to figure out how to do what you're saying ,hink. Does anyone know if the FL book that was recently made would break that down?
