Anyone remember their ancient history?
Which came first the Pentium III or the Pentium-Pro? My guess is the Pro...

Hi,
might help puzzling: with an AMD 3200+ (10% overclocked) at average cpu load of 88% (windows task manager) I can add 1 band/QL 3 in PL mode without crackling. At rougly 75% average load I can activate 3 bands. Host is Cubase SX 3.1.x.
If I got the previous exchange right, this indicates it's not a general AMD-related issue.
cheers,
LiteOn

The PPro was the super version of the PI. I think they even made dual mobos for them.dbmcclain wrote:Anyone remember their ancient history?

Okay, I'll put the ball in your court...
There is a $20 donation that you can provide at this address:
http://www.softwarekey.com/products/b1_ ... ?A=2732182
For every dollar donated I will match a dollar.
If we get enough donations ($100), I will first get the newest Intel libs ($200) and start providing PLParEQ3 with their improved performance.
AMD users will benefit, but only indirectly at first. If the donations reach $1350 overall, then I will get an AMD-specific compiler ($2500) to be sure that all the Intel-inserted speedbumps are removed for the AMD crowd. They will benefit from this directly, but the Intel crowd won't.
1-for-1 matching funds. How much more fair can it be?
Let's see how motivated you are?

ok, so i tried v1.99 on a p4 2GHz and on a celeron 1.3 GHz. all qualities work great on the celeron.
on the p4 (that's where i do most of my music) QL5 does that chugging locomotive thing. QL4 sounds great. when i bounce in QL5 the chugging is on the new track.

... but it works okay on a Celeron? I always thought those were just sawn-off Pentiums. Which version, plain? or 'NP4? on the Celeron and Pentium?
