Hello KVRers! My new plug ShapeShifter has now been released!

Its a VST multi-effect for Windows XP.

It looks like this:

And sounds like this:

ShapeShifter is a multi-effect VST plug-in which gives you a number of tools for changing your sounds, ranging from subtle effects through to extreme mangling of your audio. The following effects modules are included:

- Waveshaper linked to a step sequencer, each step being set up to give a different sound. This allows you to create changes in tone that normal waveshapers can’t achieve

- Resonant Filter including an LFO and step sequencer to control the cut-off frequency

- Stereo Delay including step sequencers to vary the delay settings over time

- Gate to create rhythmic changes in volume

- Chorus & Reverb to fill out sounds and add some polish

well, it seems a little like camelspace, just that i don't like the gui as much and that i already own camelspace.
considering that it's got a waveshaper, though, i imagine it might offer different perspectives on sound, than camelspace does.

i initially thought it rude to answer in this manner, but you asked, so here's my opinion. and best of luck.

yes it does sound pretty different to camelspace, the waveshaper gives you a different range of sounds. Also its not like a normal waveshaper because its linked to a step sequencer, so you can assign a different waveshaper setting to each step and create evolving sounds.

There's other unique features too, for instance you can actually sequence the delay time so it changes with every step, which creates some unique stuttering sounds.

But of course no amount of my talk can replace actually trying out the demo!

Part of the problem may be your server... at least for me it seems quite patchy at best?

@ Gargoyle....just noticed your sig after all this time. Very funny.

@ Alex: no problem. I had a ball making all those presets for SOUP, and as you know, fell in love with PhasePhix, so it was more than a pleasure to work on this project.

Tim's presets are very good for this too.....I mainnly focused on processing specific sound sources...Tim has made very creative use of the sequencing features of the effects that incorporate that feature. Especially with the waveshaper...Hat's off to you for that tim...i have to admit i was having a bit of trouble sequencing that waveshaper...not coz there is anything wrong with it...just couldn't come up with too many ideas...You've definitely proved it to be an extremely valuable tool though. Wonderful job.

Definitely try the demo guys. Shapeshifter is a swiss-army-knife of an effect...I've found it useful for everything from total mangling chaos to subtle room reverbs and distortion-based sound beefing.

I still can't view the image from your website. It only loads about half the gui and when I go to screenshot its the same thing. Also the demo has failed download several times over several days. Only a partial download of the zip comes through. I eventually gave up.

I agree. I don't think there is such a userfriendly additive synth for mac users out there. Porting shapeshifter would be great too. Maybe pay off apulsoft or something like that. They've ported quite a few free where vst's to mac.
