Well - it's just the C3 octave not matching properly.
If I cut those samples out and stretch the upper and lower zones, things are getting better.

Now, that´s weird. Can you give me an audio-example? What sampler are you using? I assume kontakt?

It doesn't matter which sampler. The samples are sounding completely different (it's the same in sfz).
You only need to play B2 and C3 and you'll easily see. But I'll gladly provide an audio sample if you still wish...

i'm at work, but i think the "boing" which comes in after a few secs gets quieter and disappears the lower ya go

I sharpened the attack and set the release to zero to make things more obvious - but it's the same in sfz. As said, it's a matter of the samples.

yes, it´s meant to be like this, as i said, faked feels is a combination preset, where upon C3 you have a different sound!

if you hold down on the lower split, there's a "boing" after a while. try the lower notes. it changes

you mean faked feels ... ? erm, what boing? you mean the repeat / loop?

EDIT: ahhh, yes - got it! yeah, that´s part of the lower sounds in it
