hello,
I wanted to know,
Is Applied acoustics String studio capable of easily emulating a spanish guitar?
(I have this as a planned portion for a future project)
It does a good job of acoustic nylon, but it states in the review that user's are given so much flexibility that there's more to 'mess up'
It was said that this synth is not for the 'newbie' which that would be me..
or should I purchase the "yellowtools Pure guitar" sample CD that definately has it, but I won't have the string modeling tech.
Any help would be appreciated..
Pay $1,000 for a sequencer? ummm... no
I'm going to have to disagree with you there...

pure guitar is very playable and the best guitar
samples I have played.....but acoustic modeling will ad some expressiveness..

I've got String Studio, but no really good guitar sample sets to compare it with. String studio is very good, but one thing you'd have to fight with is that as one goes up and down the neck of a real guitar, the physics change a bit in a way that String Studio doesn't really model. If you wanted to do a realistic run up the neck, you'd need to get tricky and either cross-fade multiple instances of string studio with slightly different settings, or add one or more controller envelopes to affect the settings of a single instance dynamically.

If you need a good Spanish guitar, then Plugsound Free has a great one. Don't know if you were set on using what you have or not. But hey, it won't cost you any more, so it may be worth a shot.
