Uneed a talk box, and a little tip, u will need a good asurance policy for your teeth.
Otherwise u will drill your fillings out.
No joke tho.
A nice alternative is the digitech talker, it will come close.

Talkbox.... Sounds expensive. Isnt there an easy, and free, VST plugin that can do the job??

Do a search for "talkbox" in "Effects" - you'll get plenty of info and suggestions from the results.best_music wrote:Talkbox.... Sounds expensive. Isnt there an easy, and free, VST plugin that can do the job??

You probably can't get that sound without a TB. I hear it takes some time to get good at it. $139-$149 is not too bad. Try ebay!

Yea, you won't get anywhere close to that sound with any free vst, and maybe not even a commercial vst. It seems the only thing you could do is use the real thing.

In case anyone is considering buying one, I have the Danelectro Free Speech talkbox, and it sucks ass!
The built-in amp/speaker system is unable to pump sufficent volume down the tube and into your mouth, which means you have to really deep-throat the tube in order to get a decent formant effect on the original sound. Turning the volume on the stomp box up past a certain level just starts to introduce distortion rather than getting louder. Also, the "inline" nature of this stomp box means that the little mics attached to the tube feed their output back into the box. Unfortunately, those little mics are of pretty poor quality, so I generally just record the results with my Neumann.
