Symphony Strings question...

I'm using a sound in Sampletank 2 XL, "Staccato String 1" from the Symphony Strings expansion tank. I made the track in Cubase VST32 5.1, and I recently bought Cubase SX 3, and imported the song into Cubase 3.
The problem is that now this sound sounds "tinny" for lack of a better word, whereas in Cubase 5.1 it sounds perfect. I am baffled by this and can't figure out what is wrong. All the other sounds in the song out of Sampletank are good, just the sound out of Symphony Strings expansion tank.
Any ideas?

Perhaps it could be the way it is being bussed in Cubase (somehow being summed into mono?) or perhaps it is on a channel with EQ on or a quieter level? It is not likely that it is Symphony Strings or ST itself. However, if you contact IK tech support they can troubleshoot it with you.

Hi Squids.
I figured it out. Somehow my keyboard was triggering both the string sound in ST2 and another sound on the same MIDI channel in Hypersonic. Weird. I cleared out the sound in Hypersonic, and all is well now.

So you are saying Hypersonic made it sound thin?Fiasco wrote:Hi Squids.

You know, for once I have to admit, Hypersonic made it sound thin. LOL!
By the way Squids that Modern Songwriter disc I bought from you in 2002 is just killer. I love it.

Thanks. This is a rare find for people (especially because of the rhythm guitars). We just did a new session that does something similar with up and down strokes of acoustic chords. This guitar we just sampled (a Martin) sounds so unbelievable! We recorded it with all tube mics and into an API. Sweet! 4 dynamics up and 4 dynamics down in stereo (with an extra optional M49 from a distance). This will be on some of the new libraries coming out.Fiasco wrote:You know, for once I have to admit, Hypersonic made it sound thin. LOL!

sounds great. Are we gonna have a choice of chords on top of major and minor?Squids wrote:We just did a new session that does something similar with up and down strokes of acoustic chords.
