that's encouraging, another point for SONAR, in the sx sonar decision.

how quick and easy is the update?

Historically the updates don't take longer than a minute or two to do, unless they kick the VST adapter and you have a lot it has to scan.Hink wrote:how quick and easy is the update?
However, their site is swamped right now with people downloading the patch (including me), so it could take a while to download fully - my first download attempt failed after about 6M of the 20M download.

The update is the same as most cakewalk updates. The installer is a "patcher" that patches thecanged files instead of being an entire installer. It installed for me in ~2 minutes. So far things are much improved.

Yup, that's about how long it took me.Stupid American Pig wrote:The update is the same as most cakewalk updates. The installer is a "patcher" that patches thecanged files instead of being an entire installer. It installed for me in ~2 minutes. So far things are much improved.
This patch does NOT rescan your VSTI. However, I downloaded the VST adapter update because I also use P5V2, and did a full reset scan then.

Do you mean Wusikstation 1? If so, it is working fine here in Sonar 5.0.1.Hink wrote:it doesn't pick up wisik 1 for some reason...perhaps 5.01 fixes it, but they say anthoer update is coming so maybe then

Doesn't SONAR 5 & P5 2 use the same VST adapter, from the Cakewalk folder? If you download and install the latest SONAR 5.01 update (which includes the latest 4.5.1 VST adapter), you shouldn't have to install it a second time. It would probably be a good idea to do a reset and then re-rescan, of all your VST plugins, with the updated VST adapter though.dougsyo wrote: This patch does NOT rescan your VSTI. Looks like the load has cleared. I just downloaded it in 28 seconds, literally.dougsyo wrote: However, their site is swamped right now with people downloading the patch (including me), so it could take a while to download fully - my first download attempt failed after about 6M of the 20M download.
