Pool floater diffusers?

I've got the idea to make diffusers with a dozen or so inflatable air matresses. They seem to be a decent shape for a diffuser, and are filled with air. What do you think?

Onetime at my old private school I used a cut-up air matress to make the skirt of a hovercraft (that worked, though only one girl was light enough to pilot it
