What is reverb unit?
What is channel fader?
What is pre-fader mode?
What would happen if the channel fader is down and the reverb b effect is in pre-fader mode?
Thank you in advance!

not working here, I think we've just been tricked
lol
Reverb Unit - Is a device that adds the sound of a building / location to your sound. Reverb adds the ambience that you hear when clapping your hands in a church / hall / room.
Channel Fader: Is general a slider that controls the volume (loudness) of a single track of audio. For example, the channel fader on the guitar track will adjust the loudness of the guitar.
Pre-fader: Is when a sound is sent to a deivce or effect BEFORE the channel fader has affected the loudness of the channel. This is like an independent volume control for a channel and is usually used with effect sends.
If the channel fader is down and pre-fader mode is used to a reverb effect, the signal will not be affected by the channel fader at all. This means that even if the channel fader is at 0 (or - infinity) and you can't hear the sound, the reverb affect will still be heard because the effect volume works independently of the channel fader volume when you are using pre-fader mode. If you were not using pre-fader mode, the sound would not reach the rever if the channel fader was down. I'll try to summarise...
Pre-fader Mode:
Sound -> Effect Send Volume -> Reverb
Normal (Non-pre-fader) Mode
Sound -> Channel Fader Volume -> Effect Send Volume -> Reverb
Hope I haven't confused you more
Cheers

So who is it this time? This is without a doubt a already familiar user under a new name.

I see the KVR hit squad is back at it...apparently some of you were born with all the music knowledge in the world....so 11 post as I type this, most poking fun of the author. Sure it's possible that it is a member that changed his name to have fun, if that's true though it might seem fun too him but surely hurts him more (even if we never know who it is). But I see no reason yet to jump to such conclusions and I think KVR deserves a better rep then a place that treats newbies like morons...sure his nick says idiot but what if he is a newbie? How will you guys feel? Does not anyone remember respect?
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Would you rather we all said something along the line of RTFM? You gotta admit, Cubase isn't exactly the DAW of choice for absolute beginners...Hink wrote:I see the KVR hit squad is back at it...apparently some of you were born with all the music knowledge in the world....so 11 post as I type this, most poking fun of the author. And with all the nonsensical questions we've been inundated with as of late, can you blame anyone for not being overly helpful?
Maybe it's just me, but the original post was/is a little suspect... Maybe I've just become too sensitive lately... Could be the Pisces in me.

maybe it is, but that's an assumption isn't it? I don't know about you but perhaps the old saying "If you don't have anything positive to say, don't say anything at all." No offense I really do not know you or have anything against you...but you based your assumption after only reading the thread title and one post...I hope if you're ever charged with a crime you didn't do, you have people more patient then youur example here.advaya wrote:Would you rather we all said something along the line of RTFM? No RTFM isn't appropriate either. But like I said if it is someone playing a prank, just don't respond...if someone is that immature and have such a sad pathetic life that this is fuuny to them, well then that's problem isn't it...not yours.
I dont know but I see sometimes KVR being a place not for beginners anymore, I see snobs saying you're not smart enough to be here...that brings me sorrow, especially seeing how Ben obviously trys to make it more newbie friendly.
I didn't try your link but if it was a joke it was a poor one indeed. God knows I am all about humor, probably one of the most sarcastic people here and most people consider me the "class clown". However at no time do I find humor at the exspense of those who do not deserve it appropriate.
Yes there are times where we have the really obvious examples of warez users, trolls ect...but in this case don't you think passing judgement after 1 post is a bit out of line?

BTW I know cubase isn't good for beginners, but only because I sold it...I have never used it...what makes you think a newbie should know....it could be that a salesman failed to mention that fact to make the sale...then the person comes here and gets insulted...so he gets screwed twice right from the start.
EDIT: btw soundpalce answered his question, he showed appreciation in his first post and after soundpalace posted. I bet it took about two minutes of his time to respond. However what of those who are afraid to ask a stupid question (subjective) maybe sombody doesn't know these things, were afraid to ask because they're not smart enough to post on KVR, proven by threads like this...and read that and learned.
