New Marquis Compressor feature awaits your opinion

Kingston, this is not really a bug - just a phase coloration. It is not possible to mix Marquis-processed signal with the original signal. This was not possible from the very start as well.
However, latency did increase by 10-12 samples. Latency is around 19 samples now. That's less than 0.5 milliseconds at 44.1kHz. Pretty acceptable I would say.
I'll update the plug-in so that it reports this latency to the host.
Or is this still problematic? (except that mixing original&processed wasn't available from the very start - that's why we have dry mix knob).

Ah ok, I didn't test it that far.
yeh, latency reporting would be ideal.
(or maybe a global switch for those who don't want compesation)

I've just posted v1.0.8 which enables 19 samples delay compensation. Also I've removed a fraction of that 'sharp' attack. Should sound generally better - without over amplified 'edge'.
Hopefully this update resolved these problems.
As for the global switch for PDC, I'll consider adding it if somebody reports unavoidable problem with it. To my knowledge, there should be none (except the latency is not reported to be 0).

HI
Well: you can only give it your best shot - just learn to duck if you decide to get lazy!

You're more of an artist than you allow yourself to think.
Sure there's the audience to cater for, but the respect you've gained among it allows you to experiment more and more. People might like it if you break thru some of the "optimizer" bounds you've set yourself into.

Ok this is perfect.
I finally noticed the phase response change. The oopmh you talked about. Yep, things sound better thru it even if run "dry". It changes the bass it seems.
This kind of effect alone even without the compressor would work well in mixing. Would it be light on the CPU?
an idea for a separate plugin
(very subtle. but the accumulation for many tracks would be magic)

Kingston, do not forget about 'valve kind' of coloration happening as well. Coupled with low phase shifting it seems to work even better.
As for the separate plug-in, I'm not currently interested in one. I'll research this phase shifting area more and if I am able to come up with some tweakable design I'll release it as a plug-in then.

I think this will end up being my first Voxengo plug-in (though I have wanted/still want many). In fact, I would have picked it up last night, but sadly had to blow $200 on furniture for my CDs. I'm definately going to try and work this in my budget this week though. Good work Aleskey.
I'm sorry this post wasn't about techno.

It shouldn't.
The latest is 1.0.8 and that's what it says on the UI as well.

This is the most versatile compressor I've tried. It would maybe not be my most used one, but you can do stuff with it that I yet haven't been able to do with the other compressors I've tried. It has a ton of options, which is both good and bad in when you don't feel like tweaking. I can see this one being the perfect compressor for inconsistent drummers that you really have to compress the sh*t out of to get a consistent beat from.
This is just some thoughts I have about this marvelous compressor. A God send in some situations and messy (tweaking wise) in others.
Wonderful work Aleksey!
