$150.00 is a good price for all the plugs if you like them,but I personally wouldn't buy it for the Ren EQ as I feel it's been eclipsed by other quality plugs out there like the Sonalksis,URS and UAD.If you want better EQ your going to have to spend more money,the cheapest being the Sonalksis SV-517($250.00),from there it's UAD or URS or Sony Oxford on the PoCo card,but adding the Ren EQ will just give you a slightly different option in the same leauge/level.Spending an additional $100.00 for the Sonalksis would be money better spent.

I don't like RenEQ...

I prefer Sonitus fx EQ

And I think that the Kjaerhus GEQ-7

(which I also have - it costs just $98) is probably the best of the three (it is my main go-to EQ, although in Sonar I will probably limp for the Sonitus one as it is very nice also).

Should have said WHY I don't like the RenEQ...

* The interface is fiddly
* The sound is bland/lacks character
* It lacks useful presets

Thanks Alan - I played with the patch - close and sounds good - I believe Waves sounds a bit cleaner but in a mix I'm not sure one could tell the difference - good call.

I agree with that, I don't use RenEQ that much, but I own some much nicer EQ's, so I don't see the need. The presets really bite it too.

I do feel the same about the Sonitus EQ, though, except they were nice enough to kick in presets with more than funny names.

Thanks for all the inpput fellas - because of this thread I've gone back and looked at the FX EQ and it does a great job on my fake Strat. The FX Chorus has good doubling presets so I'lll experiment some more.

Always thought the Cakewalk FX was a decent set but the EQ looks good again.

they are a good set of general fx. Add PSP Vintage Warmer and you should be good for most stuff.
