I absolutely love just about every track on SOAD's first albums, but can only stand one or two tracks off the rest of them....

it seems like there are bands/artists that evolve and explore, and then there's the ones that play only one (type of)song, which is fine if you like that song...
oldish rock'n roll f**ks such as me (compaired to you younger ones) reference bands like beatles, stones, floyd, bowie, neil young, etc because there was a growth, an integrety, and real drive towards trying to make something important, creative, original, and new...but the economic climate of the times and within the music industry allowed and somewhat encouraged innovation and invention, artist development, blah blah...

i was writing a brilliant essay which covered (amongst other stuff)defending us older music dudes, analyzing record companies then/now, and compairing beyonce vs. diana ross (guess which one i like better), i clicked something or other, RIP, bye bye... friggen boo and hiss...oh well..ain' got the mind to redo...

One reason it is hard to compare modern artists to artists of the past is because the old artist has the better part of their career down or completely over, when the modern artist is in the MIDDLE of his/her career. I mean for all you know, Beyonce just started, ya dig?
