did you download rebirth? afair it can be synced to midi-clock. so you could use a loopback-device to send midi from eXT to rebirth and check if rebirth receives clock.soma wrote:Maybe... I'll look into it...
How would I test it?
it was just a suggestion, but if it's not of any use to you, i can wait until jorgen implements it on host level. i found some posts from 2004 regarding clock - maybe i'm one of only a few users that need this.

cYrus- NF might have retired or at least is taking a sabbatical.
Anyway, I'm having a lot of fun taking requests, so I'll put your request on my list
There are a few other items a bit closer in the queue though. Check back in a few weeks.
PS Midi clock is almost done (I hope) and I think I'm going to squeeze those features into the Soma_Transport_V20

this one's even as cool as the jitter onesoma wrote:Ok here is the official Envelope release and the first to go directly to Asseca's page ( http://asseca.com/soma the rest will follow).
Follows audio in to make a CC envelope. Time sets the global time. Attack and decay multiply the time. Each time parameter has a fine setting. Display is in millisec on top and 16th beats on the bottom. You may add an offset and inverse the envelope. Amplitude determines the amount of envelope to send.

This one's pretty good actually. [edit: .zip]

Thanks!
I have a few other models for enveloping I want to try
maybe when I finally get around to an audio pitch to midi or formant to CC. (that should take a while though as it's pretty hard to do as well as I'd like).

ok, jaltoh have already done it, but developing his audio to midi converter a bit more would be nice. perhaps beeing able to record the CC changes in a envelope curve?
thats how i use his plugin atm. but instead of having go thru the whole process of sending audio into eXT, processing it with the audio2mii converter, and then shipping the midi into cubase and record it there, it would be nice IF it was possible to do some kind of converter/envelope curve hybrid of some sort. so one could record the midi control curve straight in the plugin itself. and perhaps even export it?
im just thinking out loud here..dunno if its even possible. would be nice tho.

Sounds ambitious Steff.
In the mean time here's a nice update, a Beefed up transport detect, panic button, midi clock with output to a physical output, Black fire skinned with time display. (Replaces Soma_Panic + Soma_transport_detector.)

This Transport Detector can send a CC on a start/stop to the VST midi out. In energy XT, you can map the those CC's to a sequencer's start, stop, home, and record! Panic too.
This plug will send MIDI start and clock messages out too. It can pass the clock to a physical midi device and/or VST port.
Tempo, time and beat counts are displayed. (Assumes 4/4)
Most Essential Information for using the MIDI Clock feature in energyXT:
(Abstract from the readme By R.A.W.)
1. The MIDI-Clock defaults to 120bpm on start up, to make it sync to the tempo,
you have to "update" the tempo once, meaning just change the tempo and set
it back to the original.
2. When you want to use the MIDI Clock in a Sequencer comp, you have to insert
it to the "MIDI FX - Groove" of a MIDI Track, and the track must have an output.

Thanks to Branis, CK, DH, R.A.W., inkinen, and the XT forum.

for all who were waiting for this feature: this plug can send MIDI CLOCK
great, thank you again soma, nice work!!
it was my pleasure helping, as i now benefit from your work.
asseca already set it up on the dedicated site for soma's plugins http://www.asseca.com/soma/index.html
p.s.: asseca, perhaps the short description should also point out the midi clock feature.
