Hey all,
I'm sure this is something really obvious and I'm too much in the middle of it to figure it out.
So I finally get around to buying and installing SX3 and today I started to tweak it how I like. I'm having an issue where I input a note on time (I play it, no noticable latency) but the note doesn't actually get input into the part I'm recording until 1/4 note later. How the hell do I fix it?
Hardware:
M-audio keystation 88
M-audio FW410
PC-amd 64 3200+, 2.5gb ram
I'm stumped. I've never had this issue with previous versions. Any ideas?

Read this to start. It can be fixed but it is a pain. This article will help . If you need more assistance PM me and I'll get you through it. I struggled with this for some time.

Thanks for the info! I managed to get it fixed without any additional headaches (for the time being).

It might be my imagination but the swing in SX3 seems to be way better than V1 and 2. Maybe it's the same and I'm just smoking rock. I dunno.

Yeah, I struggled because I had a midex 3 (steinberg interface) which wouldn't display the direct x ports. I had to do registry hacks until they released a better driver. At any rate, I'm glad you are good to go.

Man, that's too much hassle. I wish Steinberg would have at least gotten midi right before they released 3.

that's the most important part from the article
and yeah, the midi timing is better for most people
and if you use the 'system time stamp,' option
you'll find it's even better
it can be sussed out,
it just takes a few tries and from them on the timing is fine, at least here with two MOTU interfaces and an M-Audio one...
