Wasn't that a cop show on ABC in the 80's?

Love the EQ David.

One minor request: Allow Q adjustment with the mouse wheel.

One major request: Stay away from Pace

Good idea.
One major request: Stay away from Pace
An even better idea.

2.0 is here!!!

Post

Release 2.00 of PLParEQ3 is now available.

It is an entirely new compilation created separately for Intel and
AMD platforms.

For the Intel platforms we use the latest Performance Primitives
Library and the latest Intel Reference Compiler for significant speed
improvements.

For the AMD platforms we elided all Intel-provided software, wrote
the math libraries ourselves, and compiled with a high-performance
optimizing compiler.

For both versions, you will find separate plugins compiled for
variations based on your machine capabilities: no SSE, SSE, SSE2, and
SSE3.

Also, starting in Version 2.00 we implement the ability to restrict
the maximum Quality Level. We also made the QL's correspond with the
little 3-Band PLParEQ3. So now there are a total of 5 QL's ranging
from delays of 512 samples, up to 8192 samples, in powers of 2.
Attempting to utilize QL 5 in real time is just asking for trouble,
depending on your machine. Those higher QL's are intended primarily
for track bouncing at maximum quality levels, where realtime
performance is not an issue.

You can restrict the maximum QL and throughput delay of all instances
of the plugin, by defining the Environment variable PLPAREQ_MAXQL
with a value ranging from 1 through 7. That will prevent any instance
of the plugin from using any higher quality level, and the latency
reported to the VST host will be reduced to the delay corresponding
to that maximum QL. If this variable is absent, then the plugin will
default to maximum QL of 5.

I do. Haven't had call to use EQ much since getting it, but did a quick test and the performance has definitely improved. On Q5 with 3-bands operating and linear phase on, I'm getting between 14-18% CPU and no more drop outs/stuttering. I'm using the SSE2 version on a P4 3GHz. So thanks David, the optimizations seem to have paid off.

on my centrino 745 1.8 GHz, the system cpu meter and my ableton live cpu meter displays 2-4% more cpu consumption... :-( tested with nosse, sse and sse2 (3-band)

can I mail for the v2 plpar3eq or is that for donors only?

yes, you can.

appears the site is down atm?

Anyone notice that the two dropdown boxes in the lower right corner of the GUI interfere with using the handles for the filter curves?

I've been loosing control of my curves because I dip way down there for a cut and then the handle goes behind one of those menu boxes. Then when I try to get it back I can't because it just opens those dropdown menus. Any way of making those boxes disappear that I don't know about?

I'm still using 1.99,but I'm having the same problem. The EQ allows,I think,20db cut,but to get to 20db,the curve has to go quite a bit outside the viewable area.

You can always click and drag the numbers in the list of bands to the left. More accurate for single axis movements anyhow, when you want to change gain but not the frequency or the other way around.

just got v.2.02, the "unified build." my cpu is down 30pts, which is the lowest of all versions (since 1.74) for me. no problems with chugging, noises or whatever. sounds great!!

many thx to david!!
