I suggest you try and find albums by the more freeform alter egos of Paradox. He knows his music well and he is no afraid of shaking the waters a bit.

High Contrast - High Society

Musical rather than macho, one of the best DnB albums ever. Fanu is a wicked DnB artist and is just over on Dogs On Acid, so you can have a listen to his stuff before you buy it. IMO he is far better than the big names, his sound however isn't built to smach a dancefloor.

Weeeeeeelllll... a good drum and bass album's always going to be a compromise between a series of straight up dancefloor tracks and something that works well as an album but isn't drum and bass. There seem to be a lot of producers with albums out that are going to be a string of dancefloor tunes, which is kind of what I'm after, but I was wondering which of them hang together well as an album. If that makes any sense. A lot of the suggestions coming out so far sound pretty good.

Yeah. And I've just found the Pitchfork end of year dnb thing which suggests, optimistically, albums from Equinox, Sileni and 0=0 coming out next year...

Nah i share it a lot because it is a very unheard of track, yet also being one of my all time favorites. NOt very production savvy by today standards (most tracks with matrix quotes are dismissed now, but this track came out in '99, also, same bass/break throughout), but i think all genre fans should give it a listen or two.
