Im planning buying one of these:
Event tr-6
Event ALP-5
KRK ROKIT RP6
Behringer Truth 2031A
Tannoy Reveal A?
Blue Sky Media Desk 2.1
I would appreciate any opinions and experience with these. Pros/Cons?
I will mix a wide range of music, but mostly dynamic orchestral "soundtracks" and electronic dance music.

listen to a pair a of fostex-pm1 they cost 220€ each and do sound damn fine.. they also could be cool as a second reference with a second pair of monitors...like the rokits from what my experience is. Still saying that krk for my taste sound better in passive versions driven by a much more expensive amp.

hehe expensive.. isnt that a beautiful word? Actually the reason for my purchase is I want to buy a new daw & kontakt 2. And my hifi speakers& (which Im using right now for monitoring) wont really match the new setup. See what I mean? Kind of overkill buying expensive daw, but using cheap speakers.

the event tr-6 has best frequency response (45Hz to 20kHz +/-3dB)

I have the KRK RP-6's and am very happy with them.
They are a very clear sounding set of monitors - quite 'up front' but not harsh. I found I could really hear 'into' the mix very well and so I always know where I am. This, more than anything is what good monitors are all about. My ears took a little while to get used to such an up-front sound, but it was worth a little 'breaking in'. They have sufficient low end to hear whats going on, though if you're mixing some forms of dance music or dub, you may want to get the matching sub.
Overall, these are great monitors where it counts - how they sound. Also, they are very well made, finished, offer great value for money and look dead sexy too

Thanx for all your good advice. Dazza66: yeah the rp-6 has 49-20.000 Hz freq response. I dont know, maybe thats all the bass i need from a monitor? Still, the events go down to 45 Hz. Dont know if there´s such a hearable difference though.

c_huelsbeck: Do you write alot of orchestral pieces using behringers Truth 2031A? I sometimes think orchestral music is more sensítive to what monitors you use than "compressed pop-music". I may be wrong. Anyway, Huelsbeck, feel free to post your thoughts.

Hard ports are sub, and the shine FREQ on vox.
That said lows/highs are the hardest for any monitor.
With a good sub one-problem area remains.
I do not like Events definitions on mid range/high midrange if not for their top of the line Studio Precision.
KRK might be a bit too bright, but I found that easier to work with.

RapRogue: I see. Have you heard the Event ALP-5 too? Can you adjust the brightness on the krk, to compensate satisfactory?

RP-5. HF knob on Rokit. Krk was like 10 to 15% brighter
while the Events were like 15%-25% darker.(not
Precision) They are great, a few snips bellow adam.
But the Events handled base without a sub, which KRK
does not. The Krk v4s have very low output if you like
it loud. But they are very accurate for the price, and
sound great.
ALP-5 nope not yet.

(I´m a little bit tired and slow, so just to make sure I understand right. "They are great", you´re referring to KRK right? together with a sub? My hope is I wont need a sub if I use RP6.
