Man, I heard enough f*ckin' hippies honkin' away on friggin' didjeridoos at Glastonbury '94 to put me off for life. Only when you've heard Didjies constantly for about 4 days (along with dull-witted hippies sharing their extremely dull stories about how they learned to play the thing from a genuine, alcoholic, crack-addicted Aborigine in Australia after they'd spent a month in Thailand off their tits on Opium) do you realise how crap the goddamn instrument sounds. By the end of the festival, not even mind-bending hallucinogens could make the stupid drone (that's the didj, not the hippies) sound interesting.
Does the soft-synth have a monotonous-hippy loop function to make it sound authentic?

Yeah....that tune could give grace back to the didj after any horrific experience (except for the insertion kind............ouchies.) :P

It was quite a funny experience, meeting 1000's of clone hippies who'd all followed the same route on their around-the-world trip and done exactly the same things. Funnily, they all thought they were individuals and were not constrained by the system! Oh the irony.
Still, I have to be grateful for all the weed a cadjed whilst listening to their clone stories.

No offense here, but you're full of shit if you ask (or don't ask) me. First off, the didgeredoo is an amazing source sound. Full of rich harmonics that can be treated in various ways - did you ever split a signal in eight bands and process each of them with very different effects?

Secondly, those hippies are individuals, just as you and me are. Having the same experiences as someone else doesn't invalidate those experiences in anyway.

Don't you realise your perception is different to mine? So if we both went to Thailand, we'd have common opinions sure, but the bulk of our experience would be completely different.

Man, I've met so many pill popping trance freaks, and yes, most of them got on my f**king tits. But y'know what? Not once have I tried to belittle their individuality, that's just a piss poor thing to do.

: I haven't read a more true and refreshing post than yours in many weeks. The Dig is the world's most boring instrument, the original "one drone only".

As for hippies... just remember the old saying: "Never trust a hippy".

I say you are a narrow minded fuckwit but that may just be a small part of your personality. You may be a reasonable person for all I know but your post is pathetic.

I have to say this with my experienced opinion: the didjitizer effect plugin is horribly useless. The only twat who would use this is a bleepy trance wanna-be. Oh, excuse me, I'm rambling. At least it's the truth.

1. None taken. I really couldn't care less if you think I'm full of sh*t from one post, you don't know me. In fact, I'm sitting here laughing that someone has taken my tongue-in-cheek post so seriously.

2. The first 24hrs of constant 'didgering' (bear in mind this was accompanied by bongos, congas, guitars etc.) I would have agreed with you. After that, for me, it just got damn annoying. Unlike the bongos, congas guitars etc. By day 4, the didg was just driving me nuts. If you walked in my shoes...
Incidentally, hippies in fields find it very difficult to split the didg sound into 8 bands and process them differently. Consequently, it ends up sounding like the incessant wuhwuhwuhwuh-wuhwuhwuhwuh it actually is.

3. We are all individuals, but so what? I find it hilarious when 'individuals' rebel against convention in a uniform, unoriginal way - another example is goths. Man, I was 'rebelling' in exactly the same way, in exactly the same uniform 20 years ago!!! I'm sure those with a bit more life experience took the p*ss out of me back then, I hope they had a good laugh about it.

4. Absolutely. In fact, odds are I know more about internal and external communication skills and the doors of perception than most - maybe even you.

5. Really? Actually I wasn't belittling their individuality, being a clone is not being an individual. But hey, I take the p*ss out of chavs too, as do the majority of the British public. Man, I even take the p*ss out of myself, it's good not to take yourself so seriously, there are others out there who can do that for you.
