I've been pondering on spending my work bonus on purchasing the full version of FLStudio 5 XXL with all the additional plugins or waiting until flstudio 6 is released. I can't make up my mind on this one.

I dont want to purchase flstudio 5 now if flstudio 6 will be cheaper to buy on the first week. Obviously it's impossible to tell unless a IL member posts in this thread.

If i purchase the full FLStudio 5 XXL package now with all the plugins, will i get the complete set of updates for flstudio 6 when it's released or will i be missing the new features like the new sampler and such like?

Itching to get flstudio 6 with all the new features :)

Doesnt matter as you'll get the free updates for life as long as you buy online or pay extra $20 with the boxed version.

I'd say buy it now

Tough call. The downside would be that with the new mixer and some of the other features, you would immediately have to unlearn some things if you bought 5 and spent any time in it before 6.

If you purchase the XXL bundle, is the version of sytrus that is "bundled" the new Sytrus 2 or the old version?

Is it possible to purchase elements such as the new sampler when flstudio 6 comes out or will this be a free upgrade too?

@Shane Sanders

Good points Shane. I've been using flstudio since i got it free with my audigy, i know the package inside out now. But would really like the advantage of having the full version with all the plugins (espically the soundfont player). I'm doing alot more orchestral work and hate having to use another host to work with soundfonts then have to mixdown and so fourth. I would prefer to just purchase the complete set from scratch to pay respect to Gol for creating such an inspirational application.

however I dont want to purchase now to find out that the new version will have alot of new plugins which aren't included in the old XXL bundle...

I'd wait...FL6 is about to be released, this very month most probably.

This might be a stupid question, but if you want a soundfont player inside of FL, have you thought of using RGC Audio's sfz? It's freeware after all.

Why not email the fruity ones themselves and ask if there will be a special intro price. If not there is nothing to lose by getting it now.

if you buy it now, directwave won't be included in the XXL package, so you'll have to pay afterwards for it if you want it. AFAIR directwave will cost less for XXL owners though.
on the other hand i don't know if the price for the XXL bundle will go up a little after the FL6 release since there will be a new plugin included...
