here is a link to the magix stuff, but i won't by Samplitude, because I have a Host.

Er, the free plugin Blockfish, (and all the digital fishphones stuff) were coded by Sascha Eversmeier who went on to code for Samplitude.

You could start there.

Yeah, I own Samplitude, and the Analog Suite is pretty awesome. Alternatives might come with a price. Not sure.
