Hello
I was spending good time using the filter section of a MAM vf11 vocoder this weekend, and was wondering if any vst plugin of that kind existed ?
Something between an equalizer, a formant filter, an analogue filter... with a true good sound, not just a compilation of synthedit modules...
I would like to know by curiostiy if any=thing like this exists, and if anything like this exists fro free or cheap... This should of course be multiband (not a lowpass filter !!).
thanx

The MAM is not fixed though. It's an 11 band vocoder that adjusts the filters to match input frequncies.
Were you only interested in the fixed filterbank? If so this one is kind of fun (and free):
Formant filter

and
31 band bank

Sorry, didn't realize the MAM wasn't fixed. Only saw centre frequencies listed in the specs, assumed they were fixed when not used as a vocoder.
Maybe a vocoder plugin, then? Or in an EQ way, something like posifohpit? The screamer mode on it is excellent.
The AD filterbank just went on sale tonight if you are so inclined.

this Audio Damage thing looks great and the price is in my impulse range
has anybody heard the altogether subjective quality of the filters yet?

An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

I have. I got it lost night. I like the sound of the filters. One of the things I liked was that part of the signal is lost from the outset. That might turn some folk off, but I found it a good creative boost. Kind of like Betabugs Crayon filter, which adds distortion at zero. I find those kinds of limitations focus my attention a bit better at times.
I don't think it's essential for any one, and you could probably get similar results through a multi-band parametric EQ (attenuate the whole signal, then set Q fairly narrow for each band). But the filters do have an interesting quality to them, and it takes very little system resources.

Well, the AudioDamage stuff looks really amazing, but it is fixed...
THe demo tunes are good, but i really love to try before buy, so the lack of demo to try by myself makes me still a bit reticent with the AD stuff...
Is there any filter with a very analogue sound ? A little dirt/fatness... a not transparent at all ?
I'm looking for a free or quite cheap (below 40euros) plugin (the u-eh filterscape or fabfilter volcano looks amazing, but too expensive).
The WOk is good, but the sound is still quite common, comparde to the demo tune of th AD fixed filterbank...
Is there any "in-between", something sounding like my Korg Ms10 or my Mam Vf11 filterbank ?

you can get a refund - no questions asked - for 30 days after purchase, though. or even exchange the product for one of equal price for 120 days after purchase.sinkmusic wrote:Well, the AudioDamage stuff looks really amazing, but it is fixed...

i am thinking about 'demo'ing the filterbank. if i am happy, i'll keep it, if not, i'll either get my money back or maybe go for the dubstation. don't know if i could return that one though, after an exchange should i not like it.
i really like these kinds of delay and am very fond of arcdev's dubb box and ets-100, so i don't know if maybe there'd be too much overlap between the three. but this is a little OT anway.

anyway, the demo tune for the fixed filterbank, is imo, the very first demo tune which is very good !
i have heard many demo tunes, always it sounded terrible, but this time it is great, and makes me want to try... !
