Anyone know the best way to include a video on a CD demo?

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with incorporating video into a CD extra type demo CD.

You know the sort of things, they play as an audio CD in your hi-fi, but if you bung them in your PC you have the option of watching a video as well.

1) Is it easy to do
2) Would you need to write it with an app of some sort, say in Flash or is there a bit of software that simply lets you launch an avi file?
3) Am I trying to be too clever for my own good (as usual).

Thanks!

You can do it using nero. burn a music-audio/data cd (there's a specific option for this.) As for playing it, depends on if the person has autorun turned on on their computer, otherwise they'll have to select it manually.

It's playing it that I wanted to 'tidy up', if you see what I mean.

As a demo I want it to look a bit more presentable than just including an avi file.

My thoughts so far have been to autorun a flash player of some sort that would show the video - obviously space isn't as much of a consideration because of it being burnt to a CD.

Thanks for the Nero tip - at least I know it can be done fairly easily; I suppose the next bit would be whether there is some software that 'builds' a presentation for you, or whether you have to do it yourself!

Thanks!

Read this. It tell your how to run a HTML file automatically from inserting a CD. A simple HTML menu would suit your purposes but if you don't know anything about HTML, try using Google and searching for "Free CD autorun menu software" or something similar. There's tons of software out there to do this task. :)
