Hello! I am going to be buying the "Monzter Guitar" sampleSet, and I wanted to clear somethings up for me. I have tried alot of guitar samples and nothing can compare to what I am hearing from the demos(heavy metal wise) I really want to get it, and here are my questions;

1. This is just like anyother sample set in structure? (VSL,EastWest,etc)

2. How easy is it to achieve the heavy sound? Are they already heavy(powercord) samples? I can make achieve the sweet solo sound, and sweet pinched harmonics?

3. besides the fact that they are only for heavy sort of music, are their any draw backs?

I would like a Monzter user to answer some, but if you aren't feel free to answer:) I always like help :)

Monzter Guitars is all about 5ths, there are no single notes so for solo sounds you'll have to look elsewhere. The chords are recorded with FX so the heavy sound is there right out of the box.

If you want both chords and single notes you might want to check out libraries like Lyrical Distortion from www.beladmedia.com and LPC from www.prominy.com or - for a less expensive alternative - the ManyGuitar VSTi from www.manytone.com.

There's also a new guitar VSTi from www.bigfishaudio.com called Raging Guitars and the Quantum Leap '56 Stratocaster library from www.soundsonline.com .

For power chords, there's also Distorted from www.getdistorted.com and for solo guitar there are quite a few alternatives, like the Giga Clean Electric Guitars from www.vintaudio.com , Overdrive from www.vsl.co.at and the guitar collections from www.realsamples.de .
