does anybody know of a site or software that would allow me to input notes and tell me what chord that would be?
i have some pretty comprehensive chord dictionaries but some things i'm not exactly able to find..
on a more specific note i'm trying to find what i would call (G, Bb, C)?
website or program that tells you chord names based on input

Naming chords depends more on the context of how the chord is used, than on just the notes that make it up.

Gm11 but you've dropped the fifth, which is cool because he fifth is the same in minor and major chords -- doesn't provide much information.

if you play guitar and even more if you use more then just standard tuning then this is good for chords, scales, modes and relations between the two...works for any stringed instrument...you can put your fingering in and it will tell you what chord(s) it is. But also you can put choose the chord you want and it will show you all the possible fingerings for any tuning (over 9000 chord shapes per tuning). It also shows you many scales and modes the work with that chord. It's very cool software but it doesn't come cheap (about 80 bux)...

Answer: All That Chords!® will provide visually, the chord you want to play on your keyboard.
Select the root (e.g. D#) and the chord (e.g. Maj7), you will see how to play the keys to obtain
the D#Maj7 !
You can also have the main inversions of each chord.

Logic has a cool little display in the transport window that shows what note/chord is being played. A vst version of a similar program would come in handy sometimes I think.
