Got a few hours again today to really start layering up a tune. 15 tracks, all Philharmonik, except for the reverb.

Yeah and he posted a nice flute and piano demo the other day that I forgot to comment on.
Both of these are wonderful Devon.
I especially like the flute and piano demo as its been some time since I heard a really good minimalist piece.

Yes Gordon, I've had Miro for well over a month now. My review is slowly coming together for Trax here as well. So much work, so little time.

Nice DevonB I'll look forward to your review as I am still very much on the fence esp with regard to the iKey thingy.

Lovely track DevonB i own miroslav too so im always interested what other artists create with it , what reverb did you use ?
i found this guy Oneilio on my travels and he's superb , he uses fruity loops and EW Symphonic Orchestra gold edition.
Ive read the solo violins in miroslav have more emotion , however after hearing Oneilio maybe EW gold are more emotional as his solo violins are mindblowing ? on the strengh of this track alone im tempted to buy EW GOLD.

I'm using the UAD-1's Dreamverb. CSReverb with only a single control knob is just not cutting it for me.CANE CREEK wrote:Lovely track DevonB i own miroslav too so im always interested what other artists create with it , what reverb did you use ?
Emotion is contained in how much you, the composer, can control the instrument. The less control one has over the sound, the more lifeless the instrument becomes. Granted, it's hard to add emotion to samples that are devoid of subtle human nuances. It certainly is possible to make emotional samples sound dead too.Ive read the solo violins in miroslav have more emotion , however after hearing Oneilio maybe EW gold are more emotional ?.
That being said, it's hard to say considering I don't have Gold.
I listened to a few of the Oneilio tracks. Nice sound track material, not as nice trance material (and I like trance!)

That cool DevonB , i also have 2 UAD-1s their the best purchase ive made on my musical journey don't quite know what i'd do without them nowadays
i too wasn't impressed with the CSReverb , i tend to stick the plate 140 on miroslav.

I like it - the way it layers the different elements is kind of refreshing. I find the attacks of the strings a little bit too harsh and synthetic for my tastes - try the AMV patches, and also some external (non CSR) reverb. I like to keep the CSR signal in there for the effect of it, the "hall-filling" aspect, but I always have an instance of Ambience on a Send to use as my main "reverb".
Thanks for sharing this
I especially like the second half, with the dramatic sustained strings.

Yes, the layering took awhile. I spent around 1 1/2 to 2 hours writing that 45 seconds of music.Rellik wrote:I like it - the way it layers the different elements is kind of refreshing. I did use a non-CSReverb like I said earlier.
I prefer the opposite of you. I prefer the beginning with the woodwinds answering each other back and forth. The dramatic string portion needs a lot of work still to get it to the level I'd want it at.
Thanks for the comments.

Sorry, I guess I read your post too quicklyDevonB wrote:I did use a non-CSReverb like I said earlier.I'm not a big fan of Ambience though. I tend to stick to Dreamverb, StereoRoom, or my real Eventide for reverb duties.

Both Devon's and other's demos that were posted sound great.
The CSReverb I like a lot (of course!
) but it IS nice to have more parameters to tweak your reverb... although that is what the REAL CSR Classik Studio Reverb is for.
