Do we have an official press release yet?
If not, how does this read for you all:
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
For Immediate Release:
"Chrysalid: Musicians for Katrina Relief", is a double CD organized and released by an international coalition of musicians using their art to raise funds for relief of victims of Hurricane Katrina.
The double CD features xx tracks with styles ranging from blues to electronica, folk to ambient. Artists from yy different countries donated songs to the project. Pre-orders of the CD were used to cover the initial production costs and encouraged by donations of music production software from kk software developers.
All proceeds (payments minus production and shipment costs) will be donated evenly to the American Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity; to help with the still monumental immediate need in the area as well as for longer term housing needs for the future.
The double CD is for sale at www.cdbaby.com. Cost is $25. Approximately zz$ from each sale (payments minus production, handling and shipping costs) will be donated evenly to the American Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity; to help with the still monumental immediate need in the area as well as for longer term housing needs for the future.
Visit www.katrinareliefcd.com to view a short biography of each contributing artist, and to see the list of contributing audio software developers.
CD sales at www.cdbaby.com
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
If this works for everyone, the kk, xx, yy and zz data need to be filled in. I don't have those figures.
Also, the www.katrinareliefcd.com site will need updating to point people to the CDBaby.com sales page rather than the paypal donate button.
Hopefully interested parties are still watching this thread....
Once the press release is agreed to, I think my cousin can get this into PR Newswire, but I'll have to check with him again.

The only thing I would change is the "minus production costs" part, as the production costs have already been paid.
kk:21If this works for everyone, the kk, xx, yy and zz data need to be filled in. I don't have those figures.
xx:39 tracks, 46 artists
yy:I count 14 different countries: USA, England, Ireland, Nederland, Australia, Spain, Portugal, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Greece, Germany, Canada, and China (let me know if I left your country out)
zz:$25 minus $4 (CDbaby fee) minus shipping=~$17
That will be done when the cds are finished and in Oregon.Also, the www.katrinareliefcd.com site will need updating to point people to the CDBaby.com sales page rather than the paypal donate button.
Indeed!Hopefully interested parties are still watching this thread....
Is this your relative in Atlanta? If so, feel free to have him email me at keith at katrinareliefcd dot com so we can coordinate our local efforts.Once the press release is agreed to, I think my cousin can get this into PR Newswire, but I'll have to check with him again.

Keith,
Don't you feel that we need to state how much from each sale will go to charity? 'Official' 403b charities in the US have to file this with the IRS, but since we aren't that, I feel that we need to give some kind of a report on what percentage will be going to the charities - even in the press release.
Just my opinion.
