aaaah, understood.ugo wrote:hi folks,
im really happy you are all enjoying metallurgy!
they did make it into the release (and they are great), the category on theose patches was just renamed to LED because i was trying to keep things simple and because they work very well on other higher pitched/lead instruments...just as the BAS category covers both bass guitars and synth basses, and the PAD category covers normal pads as well as drones.TotcProductions wrote:It sounds great on guitars! I had some guitar presets included in the set i did for this release....i don't think they made it to the final package though.....
i just didnt want to end up with too may seperate categories (there's already 11 of them) and i wanted to encourrage people to try a wider range of presets than they might otherwise if the categories were all very instrument specific.

Bought it! Love it! Ugo is awesome. He gives away what most would charge for. Thank you, Ugo.

by the way, i found another messed up mp3 link and corrected it. geeseaplenty's metallurgic pluck demo now links to the right mp3.
also, i was wondering...is there anything in particular you all would like to hear more demos of? (certain instrument/sound types with metallurgy, certain features, using metallurgy in an arrangement, etc.?)
thanks,

Chris, congrats on your Harmony Central mention:

Sorry I dropped the ball on preset creation, but it looks like you had plenty of talented staff to make up for my slack.
Can't wait for your next work of art.

Man, I LOVE your GUIs - they're my favourites! You don't like the Lord of the Rings, by any chance? Has that kind of flavour about it...
(and no, I don't mean the movies - they were passable, but the book was GENIUS!!)

embarassingly, i actually havent read the books. (the lord of the rings or the hobbit.) i've only known the stories through the movies (the old animated ones and the new ones), which i do dig. i really ought to read them someday.

I'm having a problem in FLStudio. When I load Metallurgy into an effects slot and hit play, the cpu jumps to 90%+, stutters a bit, then drops down to below 10%. This also happens after I hit stop, then play again. Is this a synthedit problem or specific to Metallurgy? Other than that it works fine and I'm getting some fantastic sounds.

john (bassballjg) of dangerous bear has kindly offered a 30% off holiday discounts on many of his products to metallurgy customers.
he is also offering ignition for wusikstation for only $35 (normally $50.) ignition comes with over 800 megs of samples and over 200 patches. i made 100 of those patches and i put an emphasis on pads/atmospheres and wavesequences. you can hear mp3's of some of my patches here.
an email with all the info is already on its way to current metallurgy customers.

it would appear to be specific to metallurgy. i know that there is a bug somewhere in there that effects FL and Live (mentioned in the manual and in the first post of this thread), causing them to stutter when you unmute the effect. what you are describing is probably related to that.Ebenezer Squeezer wrote:I'm having a problem in FLStudio. i just did some more testing FL and found that i get stuttering if i press the stop button...but interestingly, i dont get that when i use the space bar to stop the sequencer. i hadnt run into that problem before because i always use the space bar out of habit.
i wasnt getting any cpu spikes or stuttering on play though. then i went into the audio options section and turned on "reset plugins on transport" just to see what would happen...and then i got stuttering when i pressed play. (but no big cpu spike.) if FL does some sort of reset on stop and mute, then this is definitely all part of the same problem.
i will keep looking for a fix to this bug. however, in the meantime, please check and see if your "reset plugins on transport" option is on. if it is, turn it off and see if it works any better for you. also, let me know if you still get stutters when using the space bar instead of the transport buttons.
sorry for the problems. i will try to solve this.

Interesting, the stutters and CPU spike occur whether I use the start/stop buttons or the spacebar. Turning off "reset plugins on transport" did solve the problem for me though. Thanks! And, as you said, no problems during play which is the really important part.
