Don't you feel that we need to state how much from each sale will go to charity? 'Official' 403b charities in the US have to file this with the IRS, but since we aren't that, I feel that we need to give some kind of a report on what percentage will be going to the charities - even in the press release.

Just my opinion.

Well...I don't know
It just seems a bit 'akward' for a press release.
I don't mean to conceal the facts, it's just that a press release to me should be succint and highlight the key points only. Perhaps we can include this info on the website.

Opinions welcomed!!

First of all - excellent input, Scott!!!

I think it would suffice to say that all proceeds go to the charities, but I have nothing against publishing the actual figure.

Hi, Scott!

I think what freeztar means is that all the funds will go to charity because the costs of production have been paid yet with the preorders.

Indeed me mates :) I think the simple statement "all proceeds go to charity" says it all ;)

I'm not an expert on these matters. I just know that there are certain 'charities' here in the US, that end up forwarding along very little proceeds to the actual persons in need. Could we at least post the actual figures at the website?

Seems that the local news here in the Detroit area runs a few stories each month around the Christmas season about some shyster trying to prey on folks charitable spirit. I'm looking for some non-awkward way to put people at ease that might be on the fence with the purchase.

I'm not-so-secretly hoping that these remaining 300 or so discs go out the door in a week or so. Then what? Is it possible to start looking for some sites that will host the tunes and have folks just donate directly for downloading? I think CDBaby automatically gets our stuff onto iTunes as well as some other places, although the guys I know that sell their music on CDBaby say that their online sales are nearly all iTunes.

Actually, I've been in contact with World Vision to see about how to continue donating my music, but using their already well-tuned marketing tactics. Our family sponsors several children through World Vision and I like their balance of their Christian belief and spirit to help all children in need, regardless of religious background.

I guess what I'm saying here is that this project has spurred me into something that I don't want to see die out, at least for me. I know that I have to keep this thing going for me.

How about the rest of the release? Is there anything else anyone would add or subtract?

It looks really good Scott. I think if you add Keith's edits, it's set to go mate.

I think the release looks good in the shortened version. It is, after all, just intended to be a press notification.

I would agree, though, that an honest breakdown of how much of each sale is being donated would be good to disclose on the web site.

It would be nice to run into the problem of selling out . . . but actually that would be a bit of a problem, yeah? I mean if that did happen . . . would we just call it quits? And if not, how would we fund another production run?

Past performance indicates there's not a lot of chance that all the CDs will sell, but you never know.

If we ever did sell out due to demand, I'll personally spring for another run of 500 or so and we could accept backorders until they were pressed. Though I think it's unlikely, it would be rather grand if it happened that we actually sold out, yeah? :)

As things go, we'll likely have a few left -- though "likely" has a way of sneakin round to bite you on yer arse somedays

I like rockstar-not´s text a lot. I´ll send a copy to all the people I know, and oblige them to send the message further on. If they refuse (it´s a free world, isn´t it ?), then they must come and clean my garage ! (that´ll teach them !)

Cheezio... .. .

BTW freestar, Canarias is part of Spain, but I´m belgian ! It looks bigger if you ad 1 more country, and we don´t lie.

I hope so, but it would be wisest to hope for the best and expect the worst...especially for those overseas :(

I called Duplium today asking for an update, but they didn't call me back. I'll try again tomorrow and let everyone know what I find out.
