Hi ya all!
I thought I'd just post two short demos of Basil Poledouris' "Conan the Barbarian"-soundtrack that I made exclusively with Miroslav Philharmonik. Check 'em out! Remember, I have not done any mixing so it may sound a bit muddy, but I think the result was worth posting anyway. Plus, there are way too few Miroslav Philharmonik demos out there so start posting your works folks! :)

The two songs I have made are both excerpts from "Conan the Barbarian", its the first and the sixth track from that album, "Prologue/Anvil of Crom" and "Theology/Civilizations" - my favourite from that soundtrack.

You find both the files at:

Any feedback would be highly appreciated! :)

Cheers,

Chris (Shantar)

Nice job!

Nice work. I don't really need Philharmonik, but hearing stuff like this makes me want to buy it. Very realistic!

Wow, very nice! Some of my favorite film music... The "Theology" one was especially good.

I am really impressed. :)
Great job.

Now you should try a rendition of Jerry Goldsmith's main theme to Total Recall, which sounds awfully close to Poledouris' Conan theme. :hihi:

Thank you all for taking your time to listen to 'em both.

I used the Philharmonik-sounds as they come "right out of the box" but I should mention that I did not use any of the amv-patches when I did these two songs. I tend to get clipping-sounds when using them, even though the buffersize is set to as high as 256. This happens even if I use just one of the amv-patches. My computer is pretty smooth and this has never happened with Kontakt or other softsynths, even when streaming 20-30 tracks at once...

I guess this is sort of a bug that would be fixed anytime soon.

If I could use the amv-pathes without getting clippingsounds I know that my works with Miroslav in the future would achieve much more realism than the ones you've heard! :)

I've just listened to these! You're very talented, these sound VERY close to my soundtrack albums.

If you have difficulty with the amv patches, I would suggest what I do. I'm not having problems with amv myself but I prefer to use the normal patches and then set them up with cc#11 (expression) to the filter and volume. This works nicely. I would also load all your sounds and then lower the volume of ALL of them by the same amount. You can always boost it back up when you have your final track. I have always done this with all my VSTi as I use SONAR and it always seems to be clipping otherwise.
