share-it license transfer?

hi everybody,

i am thinking about selling one of my vst. i've already gotten some advice from yannik, who's dealt with share-it when he sold some camel audio plug-ins.

is there anyone else out there who's had experience with transferring licenses via share-it?

is it enough in your opinion, to simply give the new buyer the login and password for the account applicable for the plugin, once you've received payment?
or is that 'incomplete' in your eyes, and should i make sure that the plug-in is no longer registered under my name?

It sucks, basically it is the software company's way of saying that we will allow you to sell it but we'll make it hard enough to discourage you. It is legit and it does work. I have sold twice with total success through share it. It just relies on the new user being satisfied that the only evidence they have that they own the licence is seeing their email on the share it page and having the login details. The original purchaser's details will still be present, name, address etc., unless you get lucky and share it respond to your request to change the details. That said, plenty of people have done it. I agree. Shareit don't really co-operate with license transfers either. It will probably cost you a couple of emails and phone calls to them. It will also depend on who you get on the phone from shareit . e.g. to generate a new key for the new user's name, shareit officially needs permission from the software vendor.... who had already sent you to shareit...

If you buy / sell this way, and another change for the license will come up, you'll have the challenge of explaining to shareit why there are 3 different names in their registration.
