eXT dose not free up cpu on muting! but if you disable the synth insted it will ;)

freeing cpu on mute seems to only be a T2 think AFAIK

PS, i really love this freeze clips that can still move about FR,

greets RChler

i also think that it is not good that you cant' abort freezing so far... when i freeze a ling track an then decide that it wouldn't be necessary, i till have to wait the freeze to get finsished...

Thanks djsubject!,

I did wonder why muting seemed to do next to nothing!
I know what you mean RChler, the Cancel button is locked out during the Freeze, maybe it'll be available in later versions??
There's been some great suggestions on the Freezing front! EXT is just the platform that could really fly with a decent Freeze implementatuion! ..even on reasonably powerful machines.
The amount of CPU headroom I've freed up is insane: from 160pc unfrozen to 50pc frozen! ..A whole pc's worth!

I didnt make per part freeze beacuase I feared the huge number of files per song. But I will make this optional in the future, because of the other benefits it has.

Would it be possible put the frozen loops in a "loop bin" please? That way you could drag and drop loops to the sampler, sequencer or audio part or delete loops that arnt needed. If this loop bin could also have midi loops it would kick ass.

PS thank you Jorgen and Merry Christmas :)

See, I'd love to have the audio pool abstracted to something like this. A global stock of all the audio in a project (sampler exluded), categorized somewhat like:

Code: Select all

[Sequencer name]
  [audio]
  [audio]
[Sequencer name]
  [audio]
[Audio part name]
  [audio]
Midi would be cool as well.

8)

i hope its a per track option & not global

then it would be like we had all the freeze's possable

eXT just keeps growing on me!

i'm just finding out the power of your built in sampler :o

it has the best FX i have ever herd on a sampler (i'm using mu UAD-1 plugins in at at the moment :hihi: )

just imagin what the eXT beast will be like by Xmas 2006 :o

Thanx Jorgen :)

In theory, it's definitely possible. Heck, almost anything's possible in theory. I just think it'd be harder to implement than one would initially suppose.
it's not complicated really; Podium has that functionality, and has since the beginning. It is a REALLY handy function.
Basically, you just make bounce tracks for everything that you want frozen, and just draw in parts where you want them. then bounce. Only the parts that you draw in get bounced.
cool. :D

just had a thought

when you add the extra freeze stuff, would it be hard to add a freeze folder track option?

i was thinking,

if all the tracks in your folder track only use 4 different outputs to the sequencer, it would just make 4 wave files (or 1 if you was only using 1 out from the sequencer from the tracks inside the folder track) & it would lock the folder track or somthing like that intill it was unfrozen

this would be verry usefull for freeing up cpu & disk resorces Quickly!

:)

did that make sence?

i would enjoy a cancel freeze function primarily :)

eXT can do that too, just select one or more parts and Render it with overwrite mode to the bounce track.

Could you explain that?
"overwrite mode to the bounce track"

"overwrite mode to the bounce track"
select a clip/clips & press Ctrl+r there is a drop down list in the box that opens that lets you choose your rendering prefrence ;)

Yes I know how to render multiple parts. "render selected parts". Thanks tho.

I´m confused as to what (the above quote) overwrites, and what bounce track it refers too.

Post

Render settings:

Save as : "Overwrite track"
Selection: "Selected parts"

I'm sure that's what jorgen referred to .
