I wanted to know how I could organize my vst list in FL Studio? I've got some old vst's that I want erased from that list, and I have a lot of .dll files that are detected but aren't vsts! Anyone know how to do this?

Thanks in advance!

try scan and verify instead of quick scan. that should help some.

I like to make a folder and save and fst file for each of my VSTs. Add that folder to the browser. Then you can drag and drop instruments from there. You can evevn make sub folders in that folder to categorize you instruments.

Thanks for the help guys, I'll try your tips out, and then comeback with the results!

What I did was copy my vst folder into the user folder from FL Studio. What happened is that no vst's showed up in the browser, so I couldn't drag and drop! Could any of you help me out here!

I think I understand. I do not like keeping my VSTs in FL Studios folder. It is best to create your own folder for all non-FL VSTs.

I would try to move them out of the user folder. If you do what I suggested earlier, you can remove VSTs from the list when you scan for new ones. Just tell FL where you are keeping your VSTs.

I tried that but it's all just a big mess! Is there a way to delete the vst list from FL Studio and start over again!?

Thanks

Go to Insert Channel by right clicking.
Select More.
Uncheck everything and close the window.
Go to Insert Channel.
Select More and Click Refresh.

If that does not do it, maybe uninstall and start over and try to keep organized from the start. It to me a little while to realize this.

It didn't, so me only shot is to unninstall everything and start from scratch!! Will report back with results! I wish there was a way to organize your vst's by sub-folders and drag-n-drop them into channels!

It sounds like you will be much better off after you reinstall. Here are my suggestions. Make a folder on your computer for your VSTs. You can make new folders later and organize as you like. Tell FL that is where your VSTs are.

After reinstalling scan and add your VSTs to the list. It is OK to remove them later.

Make a new folder and add it to FL's browser. Save fst files there. You can drag them right onto your channels. After you create an fst file you can uncheck any VST you do not want to appear on the list when you right click. (This is unnecessary, but if you want to reduce clutter, go ahead.)
