Did you think this was some "news" for Reason 3? (Please hear the demo / check the free sounds first)

Absolutely, it doesn't sound like your average ReFill.

Hi guys,

I used to run the support for Propellerhead Software. Now I do marketing and sound design & more at PowerFX, www.powerfx.com. First out is a new Reason refill with winter & Christmas sounds. It's a 2 refill collection weighing in at 64 Mb. Check the demo out, you might like it.

I hope I don't come off as disrespectful, but I think it costs too much. Half that price and I'm on board.

Now I realize that I might be missing something nice, but I'm comparing the price to Sonic Reality's Refills, and $30.00 seems a little steep for 64mbs. Just an opinion, and it can change.

That said, the demo sounds nice! If you've been looking for the D-50 sound, here it is!

Edit: The price is now $20! I can't resist!

Nice demo, but my personal opinion is that if I wanted "Christmas'y" sounds, I could choose from a wealth of free sounds available from places like Combinator HQ or just create my own from samples. The main reason for this is that any music you write with these sounds is limited. This stuff would only be useful for a short time.

These sound like really nice sounds, don't get me wrong, but I'm just questioning the demand and the price.

Something like this would be a nice seasonal freebie to attract people to buy your other products.

All the best :)

:) Thanks guys.

We wanted to be visible and different here, and being a ReFill-collecting junkie myself, I know it's basically really, really hard finding interesting content that stands out. Since I feel that's what we've come up with here, I think the price is right. After all, it's not more expensive than your average T-shirt and 64 Mbs is a whole lot if you go back a few years comparing with hardware instruments that had samples. It's not just christmas sounds either, it's just that the D-50 (Roland D-50 synthesizer) is pretty good for that. As well as other things. When I play around with the ReFills myself I find ways to use the sounds for atmospheric things; pads, sound effects. So I think we'll go for $30. People still pay loads more to get hardware offering much, much less. $30 for a NN19 rendition of the D-50? I think its kind of worth it. And the combinator patches & so on are very cool. You get two for free, try them out.

Cool! We'll do something else to with these ReFills too: We will keep adding free content (ie: patches). They will be put up as zip files on the "more info" page.

In spite of what I said, I wish you the best in this area. Reason is a great app, and it deserves great support.

I've always loved Reason so I guess I'll always support it.

I have re-considered the pricing after evaluating your comments, so I lowered the pack from $30 down to $20. More patches will be added soon. Thanks for helping with comments, it's great!

I hope you now get twice the number of sales!

Haha! ;) We'll see. At least it just came up on Harmony Central, so I guess more people will see it. We've credited 15 credits on our site to those who purchased it for $30, so no worries... ;)
