Never been an issue for me, but then I use a rediculous(sic) pathetic sequencer, so what would I know? :P
The features that were dropped were rather esoteric... very people used them, but the people that did REALLY liked them. Most of it dealt with external hardware, but that doesn't mean external hardware doesn't respond well to midi. and the people that lost these features are VERY vocal about it, so much so that you'd think something major is missing.
Thanks for the info. I figured it was along those lines. You'd probably find that while the features may not have been used by many, they were an integral part of certain people's workflow. And you know how we users are about our precious workflow!

Aside from the fact that they wrote SX from the ground up, it just seems odd that they'd drop them, seeing as how Steinberg (and others) have no problems bloating their software in other ways.

Mike, you are right that the features that didn't make it were probably integral to those people. Problem is that this is a business and if the features take a long time to add in a rewrite and barely anyone will use them... :/ Sad.

If I'm ever as rich as Bill Gates I will start a freeware host app that owns ;p

there is delay compensation in VST/32 AFAIK...
