Same basic question here also. It is somewhat a budget issue with me. Please know that I have great trust in Squids and have never regretted the money spent on any IKMM product. And I am wary of the USB dongle but less so now as it seems that a significant number of users I have spoken with have no issues with the iKey .... Cubase users excepted of course.I'm not concerned if it's "worth more than the asking price" or not, I want to know if it's the best for my needs or not.
Maybe GR2 is.
When does Amplitube 2 ship?

AmpliTube 2 is coming. Hard to say the exact release date at this point. There are a few things that are being worked on at the moment that are important for the product but the modeling DSP and all of that has been done for a while (what other people besides myself around here HAVE seen and heard in person). There are a few revolutionary aspects of its progression that no one knows about yet but are pretty powerful for guitarists. I wish I could talk about that but I can't yet.
Sorry I haven't given any updates lately.
I will let you guys know more when I know more.

Thanks, Squids. Personally, I think you'd sell more AT2's if there were some soundbites/samples to hear. At this point that may not be a possibility but my ears won't let me buy anything without first being informed.

Honestly, I am anxious to do them myself for you guys but it wouldn't be right for me to do that before the official ones are released. I will check and see what the hold up is. I can't imagine that it will be long before we'll be able to hear some. I know people are really anxious.scottedog wrote:Thanks, Squids. I'll say this... Those women on the site make it a pretty tempting piece of software. LOL
So long Trash, bring on Amplitube 2.

C'mon Rob, this is far and away worse than being a few months late - they're almost a freakin year at this point from when they first announced it! A Year!
I know IK and their affiliates like to pull the big tease, but this has gone too far and is a great mistep IMO, although most likely not intentional, just poor forcasting. Just read the other huge thread (100+ pages now) on Amplitude's release and you'll find plenty of people pretty put off by this.
I'm sure it will be a great plug once it's finally out, but many feel they've been wanked around, or have moved on to other products that have come out in the meanwhile.
At least I hope they've learned a little lesson here.

Squids,
Can you confirm or deny the dongle rumor?

Yeah, I know...it sucks. I wish I was already using it too! And you're right about the "in your face" marketing before it's ready for prime time...
BUT... I don't get all wrapped around the axle about software releases being missed...I mean, from my perspective, I can't miss what I've never had
And the dongle thingie is somewhere in here but Squids had said that if it was required, they would work out something on the iKey (like including it as they did with Miro)
