Thought I might give some stuff away on my site...

This is my first attempt at publishing a web site.

how and for what.. can i use the MPC60 IRs....? i am not very familiar with IRs... but i love the MPC60II

Hi Reprznt

IR is short for Impulse Response.

You can use the MPC60 IR's in a Convolution based Plug-in like Space Designer in Logic (Mac only) or SIR (If you use PC)... http://www.knufinke.de/sir/index_en.html

I use it in Colortone Pro... http://www.tritonedigital.com/colortone.htm
I created the IR's to be used in Colortone Pro...

It imparts a certain amount of the character that the MPC60 has...

so i put it in the effects chain? and it will somehow add character to the sound? no kidding... that sounds real cool. Thanks very much for your efforts!

what did you sample the character from then?

the D/A's or some else?
in use, wouldn't these IR's just give you the sound of the D/A's of the MPC60?

Don't expect an MPC60 emulator... It won't give you that 12bit sound... Maybe add a bit reducer in your fx chain... However the IR's do impart something of the MPC60 character. The 2 Low settings seems to be the most useful...

I am not an expert on Convolution but I think an accurate emulation of a sampler is impossible with IR's... Some one with more understanding of the process my be able to explain..

Anyway it was an interesting experiment... And I think there are some useful sonic flavors to be had by using the IR's...
