it will only support native linux vsts, but its possible to write a native vst that loads win vsts via wine I guess. xt2 comes with a synth/sampler so you can make music "out of the box". Ill make some example vsts with source code on linux when xt2 is public.

the midi/audio driver part of xt2 is open source, so anyone can add jack support for it (knowing c/c++ and jack that is). xt currently works with OSS only. Works great on kernel 2.6. I get very low latencies with it over here.

Oss support sounds fine to me. Jack is the real deal anyway, so I hope we'll soon see a Jack served eXT. WOOT !

As I said, the driver part (audio and midi) is open source so anything is possible. xt uses a .dll for midi/audio in windows and a .so on linux.

Btw, ALSA supports OSS.

Wow, REALLY excited about seeing screenshots!

I have to admit though that I'm really not bothered about the Linux aspect of it yet (unless anybody can persuade me). I'm really happy with my XP setup with eXT and Ableton Live; it all works fine for me

"comic sants" is a font i find easyest to read!

can i chaing this like in the Pic above?

jorgen: will eXT2 have a 64 bit optimized version? i run the pure 64 version of Debian on an Athlon 64 / ATI combi, and I would love to be able to capitalize on the architecture with EXt.
