MP3 format - can you crop???

Curious, but is it possible to crop an mp3 file without decoding and re-encoding? (which I assume would cause loss of quality)

I have an mp3 file from an internet broadcast I did, but I want to remove most of it... just wondering if it's possible, and what software will do it.... all the audio editors I've seen so far decode to wav first and won't operate on the mp3 directly.
