I have a major problem with playback with GigaStudio Orchestra 3. During playback, without warning, I will hear the loudest most unplesant BAM! come out of my speakers. I have managed to capture the sound in a wav file (implying the problem not with the sound card). You can listen here:

WARNING! Turn your speakers down before listening! You may want to look at the waveform before playing.

In this file, I am starting playback from different parts in the score, and the loud bang is at the end of the recording. This sound is extreemly upsetting. It is not good for my equipment, my ears, and my sanity.

I have tried the upgrade to 3.10 but it does not solve the problem. I have the latest drivers installed from M-Audio for my sound card, as well as the other drivers for chipset/raid/etc. I have also tried a clean format/reinstall of Windows, updated drivers, then GigaStudio and still had the same problem. The M-Audio 44 GSIF2 Driver requires that I playback at 24-bit, which is fine by me.

My computer specs are as follow:
AMD Athelon64 1.8GHz
Windows XP
Finale Sequencer
2 GB Ram
M-Audio Delta 44
2 80G SATA 7200 Drives on RAID for samples
20G EIDE Drive running windows, GS, and finale

The problem does not necessarily occour when polophony is high, but seems to be connected with retreval of yet-to-be-used samples, sometimes of large file-sizes. It isn't connected to a single sample or set of samples. I also have problems with mild click/pops and longer duration samples being cut off. One interesting aspect is, if I've applied convolution reverb to the track (via GigaPulse), the loud BANG is filtered through the Convoluted envrionment.

Please! Please help me solve this problem.

It is indeed an awful sound. I haven't had it since moving to 3.12 from 3.10. Maybe it was a featured in 3.10. Try the newest upgrade.

I installed the upgrade to 3.12 and it was working beautifully, I had minor dropps in sound at the beginning but no loud bang. Then I went back to it again and halfway through my session, feeling good and trusting that there would be no bang... it slapped me in the face

I was in hog heaven for a while there. Have you had this problem also? I have not found this problem reported anywhere else.
