I have a little problem with DS-404's handling of stereo samples. I have lots of Sampling CDs containing looped, stereo multi-samples. The only problem is that each of the 2 stereo channels of a sample is saved as an individual wav-file.
Now, DS-404 only seems to recognize 2-channel wav-files as a stereo sample which means that the 2 contained samples are linked together in the VSTi giving an appropiate use. It doesn't seem to be possible to manually link 2 seperate 1-channel-wav-files to one stereo sample in DS-404.
So, I have to either convert every two samples on these CDs into a 2-channel-file which doesn't seem to be as easy as using for example SOX for batch converting or I have to make sure to use the same settings for 2 samples in DS-404 which isn't that intuitive either.
So, would it be possible to implement an option in DS-404 which allows to link two successive samples as a stereo sample?

In similar cases, I have always loaded them in as seperate patches, and hard panned them on the same channel. The reason is that often stereo samples are seperated to optimise the loop points in each channel. What works on the left may not work on the right...The DS404 has plenty of options in the mixer section for controlling seperate patches/MIDI channels, so maybe you might explore using that for this purpose...

The architecture of DS404 would make this possible (after all, it splits stereo samples into two seperate files and maintains an internal "link" to bind the two samples together).
Unfortunately, when v1.1 comes out, unless we find some more bugs (unlikely!) there'll be no further development of DS404. We will be launching a range of products based on a similar engine, codename Tachyon. Watch this space for more details.
