Some people here directed me to free software to play mp4's. Thanks !

Can anyone direct me to free software to convert mp4's to mp3's?

dBpower Amp converter I think supports mp4 to mp3. Try and find version 10. They started charging for version 11 because of mp3 licensing.

Woah, I started checking out the site and it seemd pretty involved.

Does the simple version, in fact convert, mp4 to mp3? The page seemd to indicate it is a media player, rather than a file converter. Or would an additional plug be necessary?

Thanks, I think I got what I needed to make my dbpoweramp convert mp4 files.

It's the swiss army knife of media players. It can play almost any format and convert between almost any formats. It can take a little work to set it up.
