Yes, but the musical styles are very different.
JD are very dark and brooding, whereas NO are quite housey/electro-y and vaguely poppy (if still enigmatic)

I remember barny once saying that they started to listen to a lot of house and electro to get over ian's death, as it is, essentially, happy music.

I'm not into their pop stuff post Blue Monday at all; it doesn't do it for me.


actually some of their best tracks came off the two albums following Blue Monday (Low Life and Brotherhood). there are some seriously driving rock pieces on those two albums.

after that I'm not sure what the hell happened to the band. at some point Sumner got Johnny Marr stuck up his arse and the band went to shit.
