I feel like a complete moron. I have installed my copy of WusikStation 1 and ... I can't see how to use it!
There is no main program exe to run from my XP menus so I'm thinking that I somehow have to load it up from within my copy of WaveLab 5 as an effect/plug-in.
Problem is, I can't see how to do that either. I have waded through pages and pages of WusikStation and WaveLab help pages, and searched the internet, looking for 'plug-ins', 'effects', etc., but nowhere does anyone explain exactly how to access WusikStation from within WaveLab. It's like you're already supposed to know how to do it!
It seems that there is a conspiracy against first-timers, like you're automatically supposed to know how to use it.
The WusikStation help files seem flawed to me in that they don't explain, in step by step terms, exactly how you access it, in software such as WaveLab or Cubasis, if that is what you need to do - I have no idea. All the WusikStation instructions do is say 'Run WusikStation and then ...'. Well, how do I run it???!!!!
I have found a load of effects within WaveLab. I dscovered that if I use the menu option "Edit > Create Audio Montage from Wave" you get an 'add effect slot' option. Sadly, WusikStation does not appear on the list.
In WaveLab I have also found the menu option "Options > Organize Master Section plug-ins" but can't find WusikStation listed there either.
When I installed WusikStation, I pointed it to the 'Vstplugins' folder within WaveLab. After installation, I ended up with "Vstplugins/Wusik.com/Wusikstation CM V1" with a load of dll files in there. I then have another subfolder at that point called "Wusikstation DATA" with a load more sub-folders in, e.g. "Banks", "Docs", "FX Banks", "Main HTML", "Skins", "Soundsets", and "WSeq Files" in it. Is this correct? If so, how do I now use WusikStation within WaveLab?!
What am I missing? I am desparately frustrated.
Does anyone know of any clear instructions about how exactly you bring up the software within WaveLab?
Many thanks,
Rob

Rob, there's a difference between VST effects and VST instruments (VSTi's). Unfortunately Wavelab only supports VST effects, and although I don't own it, I'm pretty sure Wusikstation is a VST instrument.
The bad news is that if Wusikstation doesn't come with it's own executable, i.e a program that will run the software on it's own, you will need to download a host that will run VST instruments.
The good news is that there are a few good free ones available. I'd recommend looking at:-
SAVIhost http://www.kvraudio.com/get/1290.html
- or -
Tobybear's Minihost http://www.kvraudio.com/get/1015.html
- but I'm sure there are others which I haven't tried.
Hope this helps, and welcome to KVR.
P.S. Wusik have their own forum here at KVR, so it might be worth posting your questions there in the future for a quicker response.

Yes, wusikstation is a vst instrument. It is really meant to be played either by midi controller or sequencer, via a VST host (i.e: Cubase, Sonar, Orion, Fruity Loops, etc..etc..etc..). There are a small group of free Vsti hosts out there though, as well as plenty of sequencers that are on the cheaper side. Wavelab does not have a sequencer or much midi support, as it is geared towards mastering, audio editing/authoring, sampling, and CD/DVD authoring.
Hope that helps.

Wow! Thank you so much for the useful responses. I now understand, thanks to you guys and I can now stop going round in circles. I will download and play with SAVIhost and Minihost so I can then see how it works. Thanks again. I'm really chuffed. Rob
