( Figured I'd start a new thread since this one was getting a little crowded )
December 12th, 2005 - Glitch v1.2.3 beta released.
I've been out of action for a little while due to moving and starting a new job, so this is just a minor update for now. I'm gradually finding more time to continue programming again though, and will hopefully have some other interesting updates in the coming weeks.
Updates in v1.2.3:
- Fixed a bug which caused a high-pitched beeping sound in Cubase.
- Improved the sound of the Crusher quantise function.
- Crusher quantise can now be disabled, leaving only sample reduction (as requested by tryptic)

Hi dblue!
nice to see you again.
some suggestions from my side:
- internal sends (layer the fx)
- freeze mode (actual sound hold in buffer)
- and little LFOs (i think that was mentioned by others before)
btw: congrat to your new job!
and good luck for the future

Yep. Trust me, when I eventually find time to work on Glitch v2 it will be a completely new system with enough flexibility and modularity to get really crazy. Currently I am just trying to remove the last few bugs from v1 and remove that damn "beta" tag which seems to annoy everyoneengine wrote:Hi dblue!

I am, however, also planning to make an intermediate version, v1.5, where I will be cleaning up a lot of code internally, preparing my routines in a more modular fashion and just getting ready to start the real work on v2. Almost all functionality of v1.5 will be the same as it is right now, but I will introduce a handful of new features to keep it interesting. I will redesign the GUI to make it nice and fresh (re-arranging all the cluttered stuff that I quickly crammed in during the early development) and I'll also include a few new effect types to choose from.
I hope to get v1.5 started very soon just to give the plugin a little boost of energy.
Cheers!engine wrote: btw: congrat to your new job!

best plugin to come out all year. honestly, good job i'm using it on a new song which i will soon share.
Oh and thank GOD you fixed the beeping. YES!!
The only thing I wish it had was the ability to take an effect out of the ?'s random choices... sure you can hand program but sometimes it's fun to randomize things, and it would be cool to limit it to a few fx

Cool. Look forward to hearing it.jasonsantiago wrote:i'm using it on a new song which i will soon share.
If you set an effect's Probability to 0% it will not be chosen at random by the [?] step. If you still want to use that effect occasionally you can program it in manually.jasonsantiago wrote:it would be cool to limit it to a few fx
Hope that helps.

Brilliant! Thanks for altering the bitcrusher.. didn't expect you to do it so soon. Can't wait to get home and give it a spin.
One further suggestion is to include a 16th note shuffle setting. Would be handy for glitchy micro/tech-house type stuff. Untill now I've been restricted to triggering effects on 1/8th notes for tunes with 16th shuffle. However, rhythmic effects such as gate and retrigger would not be useable at 16th note rate, and maybe not useable at 1/32 note rate in slower tunes. (unless you can find some genius way of making these shuffle too? maybe a bit pointlessly tricky though!)

I just paid for it. I feel very good about supporting the development of this program.
