Analogue Solutions Semblance

Doesn't really fit into any of the other forums since it's a hardware since. Anyway, does anyone own or has anyone tried one of these synths? I've got plenty of software now as well as my Korg MS2000 but I feel the need for a real analogue. I've always wanted one but I've never thought it was worth spending the money to get one until now.

I've been looking at second hand Roland SH101's. Great synth & I've used them in the past but never owned one. However, these are going for a tidy sum on e-bay & the idea of spending £250+ for a 20 year old synth is putting me off. That leaves brand new, currently built real analogue synths & the Analogue solutions Semblance seems like one of the best options at the moment at around £470

Well, I broke last night & took my bidding for an SH101 to just shy of £300 pounds .......... but I was beaten by a rival bidder with 4 seconds to spare! Good or bad thing? In any case this means the Semblance is looking more & more likely. For £150 more than what I almost paid for a good condition but 20+ year old analogue mono synth I could get a brand spankin new analogue mono synth!

doesn't look so exciting - i would prefer something else - but if u really want a new one, that is the only useful solution in that price range

The Semblance is quite neat, but if I were going for one of AS's systems it would be to Vostok meself. Cept its about 5 times the price.

Their Red Square is a bit more than the Semblance, but also has a rather nice spec, and they also sell the Vermona Perfourmer which is quite Mono/Poly-ish beast in some ways; lots of knobs on that one (72!!).

There's the 'Synth Lite 2' that comes up on ebay. Dont know much about it, but its cheap... Think its analogue under digital control

Theres also the DSI Evolver is a mix of analgue oscillators and VCF's, and digital control and oscillators...

u haven't heard the MFB Synth Lite i guess - it doesn't sound very amazing - i'd not buy that one - have a look here www.schneidersbuero.de

Hmmmm....I'm due back for a visit maybe next summer. I think I might have to bring my MC202 over with me and sell it. That'll almost pay for a week in Greece somewhere on an El Cheapo deal. Or I could buy a shitload of VSTi that I'm half interested in.

I seriously thought my 202 might be heading towards worthless soon - apparently not. Good news indeed.

I did consider a Red square in the past. I like the Semblance because it's a nice straight up analogue mono synth. The only digital part is the MIDI In/Thru & the price isn't to bad. Sounds nice as well from the samples I've heard. The Vostok looks cool but that's way more than I can afford to pay. I'm stretching it with the Semblance idea. I was hoping to pick up an SH101 for less than £200! Not much chance of that on e-bay it would seem.
